Just as you enter Pisgah Forest near Brevard, North Carolina, you encounter the Looking Glass Waterfalls practically on the roadway. Basically, we drove into the forest about 10 minutes (if that) and pulled off to the shoulder and walked down a few steps to the base of this waterfalls. No wonder this is a popular waterfalls in the forest…there is no work required to find it!
Of course there are about 149 other waterfalls in the county and I intend to photograph as many as possible while in North Carolina this summer. I'm pretty sure I won't get to them all but I hit 2 on day one so only 148 to go. This shot was using a combination of HDR and a 3 stop ND filter. The ND filter is pretty necessary to slow down the water just right so it's silky smooth. The HDR helped bring back some shadow and highlight details.
