Image from the Adirondack Balloon Festival. I woke up extra early (4:30AM!) and went to the Airport where the Balloons were launching early in the morning along with thousands of others from around the East Coast trying to get a good seat to watch over 100 balloons launch. Only to our collective dismay the cloud cover was dense and the winds were picking up just a little too much. There would be no launches today.
At any rate the crowds stuck around for a couple hours and enjoyed a handfull of ballooners who tried in vein to fight the wind and inflate their balloons. Their efforts were doomed from the start, but the crowds gathered appreciated the efforts.
This young girl stood awaiting her picture to be taken in front of a dummy balloon on it's side that kids could take turns walking inside of.
