I'll have to admit right away that getting this shot of this lovely Cheetah involved some cheating. The Cheetah (in this case one of 4 boys in a pen) was not looking at me or my camera. He is more pre-occupied with the woman at the back of the truck we were in who had several pounds of raw meat. I merely sat in the front seat of the truck to snap away photos of the cats as they stalked the truck. We had some really amazing access to many of the some 40+ cheetahs at CCF (The Cheetah Conservation Fund) in Namibia. On any given day we were either helping keepers do the feeding for the public at the main center to riding out several miles away to feed the cheetahs who were candidates for release to even help capture cheetahs for annual exams. It was really quite an experience to be so up close and personal with all the various cats.
That said this is one my favorite of the dozens of great photos of Cheetahs during our two weeks at CCF. In fact I have so many photos of Cheetahs that It's hard to choose my favorites and remember which cats are which!
