Another photograph from the still very recent trip to Namibia. This shot was taken at the Namib Rand Nature Reserve near the Sossusvlei area where we stayed 2 nights. The Reserve itself is private, but borders the Namib-Naukluft National Park where the amazing sand dunes are located.
On this morning I sort of got this photograph as a happy accident. We really had no business being out in the middle of the reserve at 6am for sunrise except that we were scheduled to take a hot air balloon ride that morning and because of the nearby inclement weather the ride was canceled but not until we drove out 40km to the site. However, the result of no balloon ride was that we were stuck in the middle of the reserve to have some coffee and take pictures while watching the sun rise with very rare clouds in the desert area. We did manage to get the hot air balloon ride in the following morning which was spectacular...pictures to follow soon.
