This is basically one of the last photos that I was able to get while in the US before moving to Namibia and who could ask for a better place to remember before moving. This is the Austin 360 Bridge of course which once of the most photographed places in all of Austin and even all of Texas. When I think of Austin I think of the Hill Country and not necessarily the downtown area or SXSW or any of that because when I was growing up we would spend most of our outings out at parks or areas away from the busy areas in central Austin and I still prefer those types of outings to this day. It's a great city for hiking, biking and driving around the area exploring the hills especially along the Colorado River.
This photo is actually a series of shots converted into a panorama while also using an ND filter to get long exposures. Also, having recently changed over to a full frame D600 I've noticed that the dynamic range of the images I'm capturing is much higher than previous camera bodies and am doing less and less HDR tonemapping. I still like to do traditional HDR when the time is right but the D600 really allows you to push and pull an image around to get the best color information available.
