Another image from the amazing Sossusvlei in Namibia. This was one of the dozens of awesome views that we had while taking a sunrise hot air balloon ride over the desert. Our balloon pilot for the trip was also as interesting as the views. He hailed from Congo by way of parts of Europe, but also had spent time in most southern and central African countries. He also spoke from what I could tell no less than at least 5 languages. Our pilot, Eric, owned the balloon company which I think is the only one in the Sossusvlei area (maybe in all of Namibia) and clearly knew how to handle the balloon performing some really nice close flybys in along a riverbed and along the dunes seen in this photo. If you get a chance to visit Sossusvlei you really need to get up the air appreciate the beauty and a hot air balloon is such a great way to do it. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny in my book for a once in a life experience.
