A small firefly, endemic to Southern Appalachia, that characteristically flies low to the ground and instead of blinking, glows a sustained blue/green light from its lantern. I have been fascinated with capturing images of Blue Ghosts since discovering them one late spring in 2017. Every year from mid May to June during their breeding time of highest activity I spend evenings taking long exposure images anywhere from 30s to 8 minutes.
